INTRODUCTION

Athletes spend time conditioning their body and building strength and endurance so they can become their competitive best.  But in sport, the mental muscles usually don’t get the same training the body does.

And when we’re in competition and facing high pressure situations we might not have the mental toughness we need to meet the challenge.  If we haven’t conditioned our mind in the same way we conditioned our body, our emotions and beliefs can sabotage our success.

This one day workshop is essential for people who want to learn and use mental toughness training and mental plans to help themselves and others better manage the pressures of the game.

You’ll learn about the three stages in mental toughness coaching, namely

  1. Goal Setting
  2. Implementation
  3. Activation

We will cover six areas that are essential to help athletes get in the zone and stay in the zone when things get tough.  They are:

#1 Conditioning the Mind for Success – Update Beliefs and Setting Goals

#2 Manage Fear of Failure and Move On From Yips, Choking, Failure and Defeat

#3 Dealing with Frustration, Confrontation and Aggression

#4 Access Creative Mind and Rapid Relaxation Training

#5 Mental Routines, Confidence and Composure

#6 Access Peak Performance States with Anchors and Triggers

In particular, we will focus on the Goal Setting stage. Without deep understanding of how our mind works when we are facing tough challenges, we can’t implement mental plans or activate the mental routines we need to get on top of our game.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

Athletes

By taking this course, you’ll gain a better understanding of how your mind works and how your thoughts and emotions affect your performance.  Understanding this is essential if you want to limit emotional interference, develop mental plans and mental routines to help you manage the pressures of the game and get back in the zone when things get tough.

Coaches and Therapists

If you are a coach, therapist, hypnotherapist, psychotherapist and you want to add Mental Toughness Training to your skill-set then this is the essential first step.
